Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the MycoSnap iOS application and related services at https://mycosnap.qalangtao.com. By downloading or using MycoSnap, you agree to these Terms.

1. Nature of the service — not medical or foraging advice

• MycoSnap provides AI-generated reference information about mushrooms that may appear in photos.
• Never eat, feed to pets, or handle wild mushrooms based solely on this App.
• Results can be wrong. Confidence scores are estimates, not guarantees.
• Edibility / risk labels are informational and may be incomplete. Confirm with a qualified local expert or poison control authority when safety is in question.
• If you suspect poisoning, seek emergency medical / veterinary help immediately.

2. License to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use MycoSnap on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the App Store terms and these Terms.

3. Acceptable use

• Do not abuse the identification API (spam, scraping, automated bulk uploads, reverse engineering of keys/limits).
• Do not upload unlawful content or images of people without rights/consent.
• Do not attempt to bypass free/premium quotas or security controls.

4. Free tier and Premium subscriptions

• Free: limited daily identifications (currently 3/day) and limited field-guide access.
• Premium (auto-renewable or lifetime, as offered in the App): higher daily identification allowance (soft cap currently 100/day to prevent abuse), full field guide, and related premium features shown in the paywall.
• Payments are charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Prices are shown in the App Store / paywall at purchase time. Apple’s refund policies apply.

5. Intellectual property

App branding, UI, and our software are protected. Species reference text/images may come from curated datasets and third-party sources as attributed in-app. You may not copy the service for competing commercial API use.

6. AI and third-party processing

Identification requests are processed by our server and Google Gemini. Availability depends on network and third-party uptime. We may change models or limits to control cost and abuse.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP AND RESULTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM reliance on identification results, foraging decisions, pet exposure, downtime, or data loss. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $10 if you paid nothing.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how photos and identifiers are handled.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend access for abuse or to protect the service.
